General Shipping FAQ
Rates start at $12 and are calculated based on shipping location, weight and size.
Our store is located in Woodstock, ON. Shipping to urban centers in Ontario typically costs $12-$16. Shipping to other provinces or remote locations is more expensive.
Remote shipping rates and oversize shipping rates apply and will show at checkout as applicable.
To estimate your shipping costs, add items to your cart, go to the cart page, and use the 'Estimate Shipping' tool at the bottom of the page.
Orders above $100 (pre-tax & discounts) get free shipping (Ontario only).
The free shipping promotion is unavailable for shipping to remote and rural areas (postal codes starting with P0 or K0). Remote Shipping rates start at $16 and increase based on weight.
The free shipping promotion is also unavailable for oversized orders (15 lbs or higher). Oversize shipping rates start at $28.
We ship Canada-wide. Rates for most destinations will be shown at checkout. Please email hello@fair-square.ca if you're looking to ship to the Northwest Territories, Yukon, or Nunavut.
If your order does not contain any refrigerated or frozen items, it typically ships on the next business day (Mon-Fri). Within Ontario, orders often arrive the next business day.
Processing and delivery times can vary, especially during sales and around Canadian holidays
When your order is ready to be shipped, you will receive a shipment confirmation email which will contain shipment details, your tracking number, and a link to track your package.
We ship with UPS, Purolator and Canada Post. Occasionally we might use other shippers as necessary.
Your orders are shipped carbon-neutral through Shopify's Planet App, which calculates the shipping emissions and funds high-quality carbon offset and removal initiatives.
Cold Shipping FAQ
You might have noticed that some items in our store have the words (refrigerated) or (frozen) in their product name. These items need special care when shipping to make sure they arrive in good shape.Mondays & Tuesdays only. Keeping transit times short is extremely important. We don't ship items on other days to avoid unnecessary weekend delays.
If you place your order after 12 pm on Tuesday, your order will be held until the following Monday.
When shipping items that need to stay cold, we use gel ice packs that get colder than ice and insulated bags or liners in the shipping box.
Despite our precautions, products may arrive thawed. Being plant-based, our products are not considered hazardous foods, and temporary temperature variations should not compromise the safety of a product. However, you should use your own judgment in determining your level of comfort.
Considering the perishable nature of some of our products, please be aware that shipping in warm weather carries some risks. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds for items like melted chocolate bars. Rest assured, we will make every effort to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition.
Shipping Issues FAQ
Upon delivery, check the carton for any shipping damage. Note that some wear is normal.
In case of any incorrect, missing or damaged items please send an email to hello@fair-square.ca. We will assess the situation and typically issue a refund or send out a replacement.
Please note, there may be delays in transit due to factors that we cannot control such as high package volume, weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disasters, or local carrier mis-scans.
Please understand that the decision to leave a package at an address (for example on a porch) is at the sole discretion of the individual delivery person and is not within our control. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you notice that you have made a mistake when entering the shipping address, email us as soon as possible at hello@fair-square.ca. We can update the address before your order ships.
Once your order has left our store, reach out to the carrier with your tracking number to update the address.
We are not responsible for delivery delays due to wrong addresses. Depending on the carrier, the package will be held or shipped back to us which will lead to additional costs and delays.
If the package is returned to us and the customer requests a refund, we will deduct the return shipping cost from the refund. If the package needs to be re-shipped, additional shipping charges will apply and will need to be paid by the customer once again.
One of the most common errors we see is a missing unit number and door buzzer code for deliveries to condos.
We also advise that someone will be home on the day of delivery. Unless your apartment building has a concierge service able to accept parcels, our couriers will return your parcel to their warehouse and try delivering again the following business day.
We are not responsible for losses resulting from these delays.
Cancellations & Returns
We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order. Cancellations occur very rarely but might be due to stock issues or difficulties with shipping arrangements.
You will receive a full refund for your cancelled order.
You can email us at hello@fair-square.ca to cancel your order before it has shipped. We will cancel and issue a refund.
Cancellations after your order has shipped are generally not possible.
Due to food safety concerns, we are unable to accept returns for any food items. For non-food items, we accept returns within 30 days from the day of purchase. Please email hello@fair-square.ca to initiate a return.
