Slow-roasted hazelnuts ground directly into a batch of Ugandan cacao from Semuliki Madagascan cacao meets Canadian oats + a touch of coconut + a sprinkle of Newfoundland sea salt. This bar is vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free.
Made from fairtrade and organic ingredients
The cacao used in this bar was ethically sourced from Bejofo Estate in Madagascar via Meridian Cacao. We pay the farmers above fairtrade prices in an effort to adequately compensate farmers’ labour, support local infrastructure, and encourage sustainable growth.
Akesson’s Estate is divided into four smaller estates: Madirofolo, Menavava, Bejofo, and Ambolikapik. It is managed by Bertil Akesson, who has specialized in growing ﬁne cocoa, pepper, and other spices for many years. Bejofo Estate produces 300 tons of cacao a year. Bertil also sells chocolate made out of his own cacao under the “Akesson’s Organic” brand, which is sold throughout the world.

Our products are inspired by nature, the seasons, a conversation with a friend, a family-old dessert recipe, a favorite song, and are made in small-batch quantities. Once sold out, some may not return until a year later.
