A floral green tea with locally-grown lavender
This premium green tea is floral and grassy, with a hint of ginger. What makes this green tea even more special is the edition of local lavender from Prince Edward County Ontario. All of the ingredients in this green tea blend have many heath benefits associated with them. Lavender has a calming effect while the many antioxidants in the green tea help eliminate free radicals. This green tea tastes delicious hot, but it’s also great cold over ice. Try adding a shot of maple or agave syrup and a lemon wedge.
How to prepare this tea
Take 1.5 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea per cup of tea you want to prepare and add it to a teabag or tea ball. Heat fresh water to 90 C / 194 F. If you don’t have a kettle where you can set the temperature, let your water come to a boil and let it sit for 2 minutes. Pour the hot water over the tea and let your tea leaves steep and expand for 3-4 minutes.
Tea lover and sommelier Jennifer Commins founded Pluck Tea in 2012 in Toronto, Canada. Jennifer’s formula for success is simple: only work with the best ingredients available to make her tea blends. For this reason, Pluck only takes the top 10 per cent of premium tea leaves from sustainable tea gardens and certified organic sources from around the world. They then add unique local ingredients like Prince Edward County Lavender and grape skins from Southbrook Vineyards in the Niagara region. The result? One-of-a-kind tea blends as distinct and unique as a well-aged wine. Moreover, Pluck blends and packages their teas locally in small batches in their blending facility in downtown Toronto.
