VegFests And Vegan Events In Canada (Updated 2018)

VegFests Canada | Toronto Veg Food Fest Harbourfront

The vegan community in Canada is definitely gaining some traction with more and more VegFests popping up all over Canada. Here in Ontario, we’re absolutely spoiled for choice as we have so many VegFest to go to. But also the other provinces are starting to organize more of them, many had their inaugural vegan festival in 2017.

What exactly is a VegFest? It’s a celebration of all things vegan. While they’re open to anyone and certainly aim to attract vegans and veg-curious alike, everything sold at a VegFest has to be vegan! Usually, you’ll find a good selection of local vegan food trucks and a vegan market with all sorts of vegan companies showing off and selling their products.

VegFests are usually accompanied by music performances, speeches, and workshops. Many animal rescues, sanctuaries and animal rights organizations will also attend and tell you about their work and ask you to support them with a small donation or by signing a petition.

Are you pumped yet? Here’s our big list of all VegFests and vegan events that happened or are happening in 2017 2018.

  1. Lindzi says:

Went to the Vegan festival in Port Credit it was good but sadly I felt it was way to small of a place to have that and the lineups were exceptionally too too long but other than that it was a good experience

    • FAIR/SQUARE says:

Hi Lindzi, being there as a vendor, I know exactly what you are talking about, it was very busy! I think we have to take into consideration that this was Mississauga’s first VegFest and the organizers were probably a bit overwhelmed by the massive turnout (which is a good thing)! I haven’t heard anything about a venue change for next year, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the expanded. 😉
